Well, technically, it’s simply titled
Hercules, but I threw in the Disney part
since it’s not the only title by that name.

The Scores
As with a lot of Disney fare, it’s actually an
adaptation of some sort of
classic, copyright expired fare, so it can’t be
completely
original. They did, however, do a nice job
on the revamp.
Don’t watch this if you are trying to study the actual
mythology.
(In the actual mythology, Achilles came well after
Hercules, for
example.) I give it 4 out of 6.
The animation was generally smooth. The CG
hydra simply
didn’t blend in with the surroundings. I give it 4
out of 6.
The story was nicely assembled. As I
mentioned above, don’t
expect the actual myth. Instead, expect the youth of
Clark Kent, the
appearance of a Yoda, and then some predictable
heroism. I give it 4
out of 6.
The voice acting was very well cast. The
“talent over names”
technique pays off, with excellent voice casting all
around. I give
it 5 out of 6.
The emotional response was good. This is a
truly funny
movie, with all the inspiration heroics that I’m such
a sucker for. I
give it 5 out of 6.
The production was fairly good. Some of the
editing was a
bit shaky. The montages were great, though. I give
it 4 out of 6.
Overall, it’s a decent movie, particularly
for fun family
entertainment. I give it 5 out of 6.
In total, Herculues receives 31 out of 42.
Funniest line?
“Quick, call IXII!”
