Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 15 December 2019

Today is my 12th wedding anniversary, and all of the shows, even the ones not wiped out by a Crisis, have decided to celebrate and take the week off.  Except Watchmen, who seem to be falling into Crisis after all.  His Dark Materials gets extra dark, with children in fights to the death.  The Mandalorian doesn’t give us anything to go on, but each episode has been better than a good chunk of the movies, so it doesn’t really have to.  Looking ahead, if you are planning for the next week, while you are on a stake-out for the fat man who is breaking and entering, you’ve got two more episodes of these shows an a season of Lost in Space.  I will be using the time to catch up on Runaways from last week, first.

[All synopses (and titles) from Trakt.tv below the cut, except when there really aren’t any.  (If a show’s synopsis is a spoiler to you, do not click More…)]

His Dark Materials – S01E07 – The Fight to the Death – Separated from her friends, Lyra must use all of her methods of deception to thwart a formidable foe. Meanwhile, Mrs Coulter plots her next move.

Watchmen – S01E09 – See How They Fly – Everything ends. For real this time.

The Mandalorian – S01E07 – Chapter 7 – [No description given]

Marvel’s Runaways – S03 – The Runaways spring a trap to rescue their missing friends from Jonah and his family.

Winter Solstice – M12D21 – Joyous Yule! – The Earth’s poles has its maximum tilt away from the Sun, causing the Northern Hemisphere’s longest night.

  1. I’ve been really enjoying The Mandalorian. I hear it will show on Wednesday this week and will have a new Star Wars movie trailer.

  2. We watched the Watchmen finale last night. Not bad, it was interesting to go a few slightly different ways, but I felt like there was a lot of things we didn’t get to find answers to because the plot took us away from them.
