GenreCon

Bored this weekend? Looking for something to do? Somewhere in the general vicinity of Sarnia, Ontario?

Well, this Saturday, May 30, the Sarnia Library hosts the third annual GenreCon, a series of panel discussions on issues in writing and genre fiction. Guests include Hugo-winning SF author Robert J. Sawyer (whose Hominids is reviewed here), Hugo-nominated Blind Lake author Robert Charles Wilson, mystery writers Vicki Delany and Julia Vryheid, nerd icon wannabee the Timeshredder, and many more.

The Sarnia Branch of the Lambton County Library is located at 124 Christina Street South, Sarnia, Ontario, about an hour from Detroit, MI, and an hour from London, Ontario. The library opens at 9:30 am; events begin with a 10:00 discussion of SF by Sawyer and Wilson, who will sign books afterwards.

We don’t seem to have a “Shameless Promotion” icon, so I’m posting this under “Ask the Bureau.” Uh… Anyone wanna come?
