Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2020 April 12

With everyone telecommuting, the Breakroom’s television seems to be getting a break, also.  Even Westworld is just saying “No.” to our Genre.  Neil and the Scientists on Cosmos are working tirelessly, still giving us two episodes, but otherwise all we have are the villains of Riverdale as they perform a musical episode, Jimmy tries to get back to business as usual (wouldn’t we all?) and Red goes against his own task force on Blacklist.  Anyone binge anything fun lately?

[All synopses (and titles) from Trakt.tv below the cut, except when there really aren’t any.  (If a show’s synopsis is a spoiler to you, do not click More…)]

Westworld – S03E05 – Genre – Just say no.

Cosmos – S02E11 – Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors – An exploration of human potential for change, concluding with the story of one of history’s greatest monster and his virtuous transformation.

Cosmos – S02E12 – Coming of Age In The Anthropocene – A baby is born on the day the show premieres. What kind of world can she expect to grow up in? One of her possible futures is explored.

Better Call Saul – S05E09 – Bad Choice Road – In the wake of Jimmy’s traumatic misadventure, Kim takes stock of what is important. Jimmy attempts to return to business as usual, but it’s more difficult than anticipated. Gus and Mike set a plan in motion.

Riverdale – S04E17 – Chapter Seventy-Four: Wicked Little Town – After the previous debacles of Carrie and Heathers, Kevin has decided to revive Riverdale High’s tradition of hosting a Variety Show. But when Mr. Honey forbids him from performing a number from Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Kevin and the gang rally against their principal — by each performing a number from Hedwig, turning the Variety Show into a full-fledged musical that, as always, reflects their inner lives and struggles. And amidst all the drama, one forbidden “showmance” begins to blossom.

The Blacklist – S07E15 – Gordon Kemp – A Blacklist case forces Liz to choose sides between Red and the task force. Red tries to calm a panicked Ilya Koslov, who believes he is under surveillance.

DuckTales – S03E04 – The Lost Harp of Mervana – The family joins a zen mermaid society to find a missing mystery, but Louie is convinced the seemingly innocent mermaids have a villainous agenda of their own.

  1. The wife and I started See (2019) and it isn’t bad. Not for kids and certainly strains the believability levels, but not bad, yet. Reminds me of a story you picked up because the cover looked good and you didn’t have much else to read on a long trip.
