Cop Craft

Comments Alex: Urban fantasy anime series based on a series of novels from the creator of Full Metal Panic, and with character designs by Yoshitoshi ABe. I’d describe it as like Red Heat, except instead of the Russian cop looking like Arnold Schwarcheneggar, they looked like an elven girl.
Day the Earth Caught Fire
Amazon
Death Ship
Amazon
Escape Room: Quest of Fear
Amazon
Flesh and the Fiends
Amazon
Grunt! The Wrestling Movie
Amazon
Comments A 1985 mockumentary about wrestling which I’ve never heard of before.

How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?

Comments Alex: Anime series about cute girls doing strength training. Each episode concludes with the main characters demonstrating an exercise that can be done in the home (with particular focus on apartment friendly exercises), complete with a demonstration of one set of reps. If it wasn’t for the degree of fanservice, I’d consider this the perfect shelter-in-place anime.

Comments Contains the complete first season.
Jungle Holocaust aka Last Cannibal World aka Last Survivor aka Ultimo Mondo Cannibale

Trolls / Trolls World Tour 2 Movie Collection

Trolls World Tour
Amazon
Utano Princesama Maji Love Kingdom

Comments Film spin-off of the “Utano Prince-Sama” anime and otome game series (which is about Boys J-Idol Group and their woman manager).
War of the Worlds (Criterion Collection)

Wild Goose Lake
Amazon
Zombie for Sale (Arrow)
Amazon

Finally, the picks of the week. Blaine says, “I enjoy the 1953 The War of the Worlds more than I should, and when you have a Criterion Collection edition of it, it’s hard to say ‘no’.” Alex says, “I agree with everything Blaine has to say here. This is in my top 3 adaptations of the story (alongside the Orson Welles Radio Play and the Musical concept album).”

    • Probably just appealing to different audiences.
Based on marketing research, no doubt.

      • Title changes like this are almost always because a cheap horror movie failed to turn a profit with the first release, so they release it again with a new title hoping to sell more tickets to the people who bought tickets the first time until they turn a profit.
