Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “Short of the Wonder Woman Complete Series on Blu-Ray, I’m not seeing that much to recommend this week that I’ve seen.” Blaine says, “for me, it’s a toss up between Wonder Woman and MacGyver.”

  1. Max Headroom was ahead of its time, a piece of SF and media history worth seeing. It’s softer than the British TV-movie, but still worth it. I’d been interested in the silent 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea, of which I’ve only watched clips. The Verne-inspired story collection I reviewed recently will have a hard-copy launch next week online.

Graveyard Shift is a substandard King adaptation, and not really worth the time, IMO. Has anyone seen Outsider?

And we never did finish Orange is the New Black, a good series which withered a little the further it removed itself from the memoir that inspired it, so I suppose I’ll want to watch the last two seasons at some point.

The fact that Karloff narrated a “Mondo” film moves it a small amount up the watch list, but that still puts it near the bottom…. Which those films enjoy scraping. As for the Mansfield film…. Uh….

    • Oh man, I may have to grab Max Headroom for the nostalgia trip. It was way before its time. Brilliant media commentary. (A little heads up to buyers, the show only lasted like 14 episodes).
