Sir Sean Connery, 1930-2020

Sean Connery, best-known as the first actor to play James Bond on the big screen and a seven-times Bond, has died at ninety. His lengthy career also included an Oscar-winning performance in The Untouchables (1988), and an appearance in the Indiana Jones franchise (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), of course).

Rest in Peace.

  1. For those of you wondering why most media outlets say that Connery was the first one to play James Bond on the big screen, it’s because one Barry Nelson played an Americanized version of the character on a TV adaptation of Casino Royale (1954), taking on Peter Lorre as Le Chiffre:

It’s not Connery or Daniel Craig. It’s not even George Lazenby. It is, however, the first adaptation of Bond into a visual medium.
