Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “If you don’t own any of the Bill & Ted movies on Blu-Ray, the Trilogy set is worth picking up – otherwise go with Face the Music.” Blaine says, “I agree with Alex. Pick up any Bill and Ted movies you don’t already own.”
Girlfriend is not the TV series, but a bit of quasi-legendary 1970s indie filmmaking that holds up, though isn’t for all audiences. Otherwise, we have several of the greatest titles in history, including Amazon Women on the Moon, Death Laid an Egg, Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death, and Bigfoot vs. the Illuminati. Of those titles, I have only watched Amazon Women on the Moon, which has some fun moments, a lot of famous people, and a real desire to recreate the styles of its satiric and parodic targets. It’s worth seeing, but I wouldn’t go to the bother of owning it. I recall the original movie poster featuring the one-word review “Shameless!” attributed to Media Quote Magazine, or something like that.
I remember having Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death and watching it before I was really old enough to understand the comedy that they were going for or the genre they were attempting to mock.
That’s about all I can remember to comment on, and that and the fact that it doesn’t have enough draw for me to want to try to watch it again to refresh my memory.
