Comments Alex: The title probably should be translated as “War x Love” (the Japanese title is pronounced phonentically as “Varu Ravu”) – but generally the localized titles for these shows are chosen by the Japanese production committees, we can’t blame the US company for this one. Anyway, the premise of the show is that Ragnarok is coming and Takuma, a young man with social anxiety and a “tough guy face” has to prove to Odin that love is a stronger force than war, through 9 Valkyries who are sent down from Valhalla to monitor him. Harem Romantic Comedy Hijinx, with a side of action, ensue.

Weathering With You

Comments Alex: I think this is the first Makoto Shinkai movie to get a 4K release (also comes with a soundtrack album).
Westworld

Wonders of Aladdin

Words on Bathroom Walls

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “On the anime side, Ancient Magus Bride is still very much worth picking up, though if you have a way to play 4K disks, Weathering With You is certainly a good option as well, considering that Shinkai is a director with a very strong visual style, and his work absolutely would benefit from a 4K release. Otherwise, the Alfred Hitchcock Collection has two major classics that, if they’re not in your collection on Blu-Ray, make it worth picking up.” Blaine says, “go with either the Alfred Hitchcock Collection or Mission: Impossible, depending on what you do or do not already own.”
