Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “Not much has grabbed my attention this week. Maybe the documentaries about Caroll Spinney and the Last Blockbuster (in the latter case because that one is made in Oregon).” Blaine says, “I’ve heard wonderful things about Do the Right Thing, but haven’t gotten around to seeing it yet.”
Do The Right Thing is definitely worth seeing but, like a lot of movies, very much of its time. Revolutionary Road is a fascinating adaptation of a 1961 novel that was scarily prescient.
And very much of its time, but still frequently funny: Rowan and Martin’s Laugh In, which is also available on Amazon Prime.
Cool World came out when a sexy curvy cartoon woman was enough to make the young boy I was decide this movie was worth watching. I remember re-watching it sometime after I actually had grown up, and… I remember it not holding up.
Shin Godzilla – I had to see what Godzilla this was, and it came out a few years ago. I don’t remember if I saw it, but I think I may try it again.
Shin Godzilla was an interesting take on the franchise. I didn’t mind it.
Now, Forearm Godzilla, on the other hand…. Don’t get me started.
