Eye Candy: New Harry Potter Poster

The subject line pretty much says it all, friends. This is the new poster promoting the Harry Potter movie; for the graphically challenged, it shows a whole lot of small boats cruising towards Hogwarts.

  1. Not A Comment, A Question.
For Those Who Have Read The Books, And Know A Lot About The Movie, Will People Who Haven’t Read The Books (i.e., Me) Want To See It? I’ve Seen The Previews, And It Looks Interesting, But Sometimes They Make These In Such A Way It’s Only For The People Who Were Fans To Begin With. Like Sci-Fi’s Dune. Sure, Anyone Could Enjoy It, But It Was Made For The People Who Read the Book.

That’s a fair question, but from everything I’ve seen/read thus far, the movie should have plenty of universal appeal. The Harry Potter story isn’t nearly as convoluted as “Dune,” where you pretty much have to read the book for anything to make a great deal of sense.

The books were originally intended for children, after all… If you’ve got a bit of time to kill, you can get the first book in the series for six or seven bucks now, and you certainly won’t be disappointed, but I don’t think advance knowledge of the books will be a prerequisite for seeing the movie.
