Brock Peters Dead at 78

Versitile actor, and Star Trek vet, Brock Peters died Tuesday. Renowned in the acting community for his roles in such landmark films as To Kill a Mockingbird and Porgy and Bess, he is best known to today’s Sci-Fi audience for his roles as Adm. Cartwright in Star Trek IV and Star Trek VI in addition to playing Joseph Sisko on “Deep Space Nine.”

No stranger to genre productions, Peters appeared in Soylent Green and the original “Battlestar Galactica” miniseries.

His voice acting credits include “Pirates of Dark Water” and “Batman” as well as the NPR radio play for Star Wars where he voiced Darth Vader.

He was one of those truly “classy” actors that will be sorely missed.
