  1. 2 things I want to know…
    1. How the hell does Jim Carey win Best Villian for his product placement…errr, performance of The Grinch over Joaquin Phoenix and Vincent D’Nafrio?

    2. How the hell is any fight scene from Crouching Tiger not nominated for Best Action Sequence? Particularly the Dojo fight scene between Zang Zie and Yeoh?

I used to have some respect for the MTV Movie Awards, but stuff like this is starting to make me wonder about it. It’s not necessary to have Jim Carey win an award every year, guys.

I don’t know. I’d have chosen Joaquin. But then again, the MTV awards seem rather self-serving. How many MTV productions get nominated that get thrashed by the rest of the world? (“Dude, Where’s My Car?” anyone?)

      2. How the hell is any fight scene from Crouching Tiger not nominated for Best Action Sequence? Particularly the Dojo fight scene between Zang Zie and Yeoh?

They treat fights and action sequences seperately. CT,HD won best fight, but since all the action was in fights, it wasn’t technically eligible for anything else.

It’s not necessary to give Jim Carrey an award any year…
