The Weekend Grosses are in. The Fog tops the charts, with Wallace and Gromit slipping to #2. Corpse Bride hangs on the top ten for another week at #9, but everyone’s favorite red-head stepchild, Serenity slips off the top ten to #12.

Box Office Figures
I just started doing these since the money Serenity makes is important to its future. Is there an interest in these each week, assuming there’s a genre flick on the list?
Re: Box Office Figures
I like it. If the figures for gross sales are available, those would be handy too.
Re: Box Office Figures
I’ve been checking myself for the last few weeks because of Serenity, so yeah, I’d like it if you posted the numbers here when there’s a genre movie out.

Re: Box Office Figures
Will do. I’ll try and post the rankings here with a link to the amounts and so forth.

Re: Box Office Figures
Box Office Mojo
has everything. I subscribe to the e-mail list with
Theater Counts, which I use to gauge studio faith in films
to help decide what to go see on a given weekend.
Re: Box Office Figures
Here’s some fun facts from Box Office Mojo if you’re into that sort of thing. Interesting fact: If you adjust for inflation, the top grossing film of all time is….Gone with the Wind. If you haven’t seen it, rent it for a good laugh.
What do you mean it’s not meant to be a comedy? It’s hysterical!
Re: Box Office Figures
Another fun fact: Serenity is only $13 million away from being the highest grossing September release of all time. In other words, if half the people who’ve already seen it go see it again, we can push it over the top.
Re: Box Office Figures
Those figures are for opening weekends, not all time gross.
