  1. My biggest problem
How stupid is Michael? The people that took Walt had a boat, but he’s looking for them by randomly searching in the jungle. Wouldn’t it make infinitely more sense to follow the shoreline and find where they park the boat?

(On a side note, I will admit to playing the numbers in last night’s PowerBall drawing. They didn’t win.)

Agreed, but I don’t have kids and I know that can make people do unreasonable things :)

I didn’t like the episode, they gave us very little on the overlying plot. We now know that the survivors from the tail section were killed by the others with traps and such. Wooptie f’ing doo @_@

I don’t think we know that at all. I get the distinct impression that they may have been killed by other survivors of the crash ala Lord of the Flies. Adewale (has his name on the show been given?) hesitated a little too long when Michael asked him what happened to the dead man. We saw the same kind of in-fighting with the forward section survivors. If the tail section survivors didn’t have a strong calming personality like Jack, and it appears they did not, things could have escalated very quickly. The small group we’ve met may have been lucky enough to stumble onto the shelter and taken refuge from the other survivors. I tend to think that they’re not responsible for the deaths as I do not believe that Bernard would have stuck with them and he doesn’t appear to be under duress.

The station I was watching kept breaking up last night, so I may have missed something (or didn’t, as the case may be). I was going on the assumption that he gathered from the tail-section survivors which direction “The Others” come from, and went that way.

Yeah, but the way this show goes, he’s probably chasing down the wrong “others.” Unless when we weren’t looking the tail folks specifically told him they saw Walt go off with the dangerous people in the woods, he should be tracking down his last solid lead, which is that boat. Besides, it’s a boat.

Thinking back to what the kidnappers looked like, they seemed a lot better dressed (and shoed) than those whose feet we saw. Plus, they had a boat, a gun, and a few Molotov cocktails. Then again, the Teddy bear is likely meant to be Alex’s, so if the group Jin saw was The Others Rousseau spoke of, and Rousseau led Sayid and Charlie to the beach camp of those out to kidnap “the boy” thinking (knowing?) they were The Others, then the two groups would have to be the same.

I thought about that, but figured that even if they won, they’d be split with so many that it wouldn’t be worth the effort ;-) I’ve heard that happens with the numbers on the back of fortune cookie fortunes too…

      How stupid is Michael?

Not for that reason though — if you think you know where the people went, you’ll take the direct path, not the roundabout one. The way he’s going about it though, all it would do is get himself dead and not help his son at all.

I still liked the episode though — we learned how Jin and Sun met, there was good emotion over Sun’s losing the ring, and the tail section people are now headed to rejoin the front section. I’m annoyed that we have to wait 3 weeks for another new episode, where it looks like they’re going to kill off someone else. I guess they have to make room for the new regulars from the tail section… There was actually a lot of new information…

Really? Dang, I’m annoyed too then.

        not killed.
        “Lost forever”.
that’s an important distinction when this type of show is concerned.

A very good point, since they all may be walking dead anyway.

            indeed.
and there’s some suggestion that what makes the Others “other” is a disease they’ve caught – so my thought is that one of “our” survivors is going to catch it.

i heard that you and 853 other people (yes, really that many) played the numbers as well. problem is if you win you’d have to split that money with all those other folks… that’d be a bummer…

ahh but $400k (minus taxes of course) in one hand and nothing in the other… which hand would you take? I wouldn’t be all that bummed with splitting it.
