With 2022’s first month closing, we will also get the close of Star Trek: Prodigy’s opening season. I hope you had a chance to watch it, with out without kids, because it hits at the core of Star Trek. Raised by Wolves also returns, but doesn’t give us a description, much like the new episodes of Peacemaker and Boba Fett. Superman and Lois return from the mines of misdirection last week for us to focus on Lana’s family. Naomi finds out she’s been kept in the dark. The Legends get to face their AI doppelgangers. The rogues of Batwoman’s learn the value of teamwork.

I’m finally watching Season One of The Mandalorian. So far, so good, though that’s old news for most people around here. They managed to understand (a) what made the original films appealing without (b) slavishly imitating them.
I’m looking at you, (a) prequels and (b) sequels.
Not so fast, we aren’t done yet!

More surprise characters in Boba Fett this week!
I have a question about the internal reality of Superman & Lois (I mean, other than, with so serious a threat, why aren’t other superheroes even mentioned. I know, I know…. The main characters have to solve the problem themselves).
You’re Natalie. You live in a world where superheroes are real. When someone says (as someone does, in this week’s episode), “It makes you feel like Superman,” they’re referencing a real person. Anyway, you’re walking home with a boy you know is half-alien and a son of Superman, though he has not manifested powers, as his brother has. He suddenly reacts to a crow that’s across the field as though it’s close-up, and explains that’s what has happened. Instead of asking about drugs (which is on point in this episode), wouldn’t you first wonder if he, too, is beginning to manifest super-powers? It’s not as though Superman’s broad range of powers is a secret, with super-vision being one of them. Wouldn’t this at least come up?
“You’re Superman, how could you let this happen?” I had complete faith and hope in you, despite living my whole life in a world where you are evil and killed my mother in cold blood, being nearby when my dad is hurt really lets me down!
I did like how the writers addressed the fact that there was a horrible falling out and broken trust between two people… who had to share a long car ride home when they didn’t want to speak to each other.
Yeah, that, too. However, she’s had time to get to know this version, and she’s upset, so…
We didn’t really see much of that car ride, which makes me think (now that I see the CW actually wants to play with expectations in this show) that the falling out is less serious than one of them is making it seem. Lois’s fault is serious, but not so serious (especially given that it is her sister) than the show is making out. I think someone is playing games to get the truth about the real target, but I am, once again, only drawing conclusions based on a small number of observations.
