Dungeon Siege, Volume 1 and 2?

Word is out from Uwe Boll himself that the Dungeon Siege movie, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, will be released in two parts, the first on November 3, the second on December 1. Each part will be about 105 minutes in length. More info from Sci-Fi Wire.

OK, I’ll just say it: 105 minutes?! Why not trim some stuff and get it into one 3 hour flick. You know, Lord of the Rings sized. Sounds like the studio wants to double-dip at the box office. I won’t be surpised in the least when this blows up in their face. Especially when the DVD will have both parts bundled together and theater ticket prices are truly frightening.

  1. ugh
Also note that these are being directed by Uwe Boll, which means I probably won’t even bother renting them, let alone going to a theatre to see them. Even the listed plot on IMDB is just a little sparse

A man named Farmer sets out to rescue his kidnapped wife and avenge the death of his son — two acts committed by the Krugs, a race of animal-warriors who are controlled by the evil Gallian.

  2. Thank God it’s two parts
I’d be much more likely to try and sit through a 105 minute crap fest then avoid part two than to try and sit through a 3 hour crap fest (theater or dvd). Does he really think this “series” will resonate with fans of LotR? Is he trying to give us this, “Look at me, I’m the next Peter Jackson! I can make a multi-part epic too! Mwa ha ha!” People MIGHT go see the first part, but then be so horrified at the lameness of it that they won’t bother with the second part. Pure genius. :-| He must have his head where the sun don’t shine to think that’s a great idea. If he had truly great movies under his belt already, then sure. But they’re all crap so far. What is he thinking?

  3. hmm…
well it will likely suck. however if they cast a hot redhead it might be worth a rental. ;p
