Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “Shaft is my pick for the week. While I enjoyed Getter Robo Arc, and if you’re a fan of HunterXHunter that boxed set is worth picking up, Shaft is a classic film for a reason, so I’d recommend picking it up in 4K or Blu-Ray depending on what you can play. Blaine says, “I haven’t gotten around to seeing Shaft yet, but I’ll recommend it based on reputation and the quality of Criterion Collection releases.”

  1. Aliens, Clowns and Geeks – Didja like see The Forbidden Zone? This looks like more, now with Clowns!

I am looking forward to watching it, the same way you look forward to painfully spicy wings or a marathon.

  2. They produced whole series out of The Lost Symbol? That book was profoundly…meh.

Maybe because I knew my way around DC and many of the surprises weren’t surprises. Also, by Langdon book #3, Brown was clearly running out of ideas. (Though maligned, I maintain that Angels & Demons is a great plane trip/beach read).

    • I was working at CERN when “Angels and Demons” hit and had to work with the fallout of the gross misrepresentation of that book. I won’t be touching anything by Dan Brown.
