Joss Whedon reveals future projects involving Buffy, Spike and Serenity

Joss Whedon has revealed
some of his upcoming projects, including more comics
(Buffy and Serenity), more movies
(Spike), and updates on previously announced
movies (Wonder Woman.) There’s not a lot of
information available right now, but fans will want to
check it out anyway.

  1. Hmmmmm
Well I didn’t find the Serenity comics very… err… good. I understand Joss does good X-Men, but I’ve not read them so I can’t say if I agree. Still, Buffy and Serenity in comic form, not so happy about. I’m still upset that Serenity didn’t sweep the box office. Word of mouth should’ve spread it faster than spilt milk covers my kitchen floor.

A Spike movie could be good, but could also be really tedious. Just make sure it doesn’t have Angel in it.

As I understand it, Joss didn’t write the Serenity comics, they’re his idea, written by someone else.
I have the first TPB of Whedon’s Xmen, and it’s quite, quite good. Gonna get the second TPB, eventually.

A friend of mine didn’t want to see it because he hadn’t seen the series. I think that might have been a common hangup.

I think part of the problem (at least around here in the boonies) was that it was not playing in enough theaters. It was playing at 2 theaters within 50 miles of me (one was 50 miles one way, the other was 50 miles the opposite direction).

I saw it on opening night, and the theater was packed, but you could tell it was packed with Firefly fans.

A month later it opened at a local theater. If I had time, I would’ve gone to see it again and again.

Maybe I’ve been studying math too much lately but that made next to no sense.

That link only shows the second half of Joss’ post, and (as usual) he makes a lot of joking references back to earlier comments. Still not very coherent, much less concrete, about actual projects, though…

BTW, the link to the original Whedonesque post is screwed up on the referred site; try this one.
