Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “The Heike Story is a tremendous adaptation of a classic work of historical literature, which makes these historical figures feel real and human, and which gives a voice to the women who the original historical text may have under-represented. It is my pick whether you like anime or not. On the 4K film front, I’m going with High Plains Drifter (with Wall-E if you want something more kid-friendly).” Blaine says, “of those I’ve seen, some of the titles in the Sony Pictures Classics collection are pretty great. I keep hearing wonderful things about Justified, but I haven’t checked it out yet.”
