Weekly Comics Discussion – December 7, 2005

There are some items of interest on this
week’s shipping list
. Those that jumped out at me
will be listed below.

DC Comics

  • ALL STAR BATMAN AND ROBIN #1 SPECIAL EDITION #1:
Those of you who didn’t read Timeshredder’s review
probably want to pick this up. (Reviews of the
Superman volume seem much, much more promising.)
  • GOLDEN AGE HAWKMAN ARCHIVES VOL 1 HC: The archives
are nice, but generally out of my price range.
  • SHOWCASE PRESENTS JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA VOL 1:
Back to the Silver Age for the Justice League.

Marvel Comics

  • ESSENTIAL SPIDER-WOMAN VOL 1: Jessica Drew’s
origins, just in time for her own miniseries and a
    story arc in New Avengers.
  • FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #3: “The Other”
    continues.
  • MARVEL ZOMBIES #1 (OF 5): The Kirkman miniseries
launches, as a spin-off of a recent issue of
Ultimate Fantastic Four, though I doubt there
will be direct reference to that title. (This doesn’t
even have the “Ultimate” label, after all.)
  • SPIDER-MAN BLACK CAT EVIL THAT MEN DO #4 (OF 6):
Can you believe it? It’s been years since #3 came
out, and #4 is finally shipping.
  • SUPREME POWER NIGHTHAWK #4 (OF 6): This has gotten
off to a good start. It seems like it’s here to
establish this version of the Joker.
  • ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #87: The Silver Sable story
    arc continues.
  • ULTIMATES 2 #9: The identity of the mole has been
    revealed. This will be interesting.

  1. Ultimates 2
Has anyone else been reading this? Un-fricking-believable! I have no idea how things are going to get resolved. This is how the Avengers should be!!
