Good to see good ol consitancy from the org series to one that takes place before it… WTF, its cool but, prob too cool.

Agreed. It Looks Kewl, But It Doesn’t Look Like The Original Enterprise. So Much For Cannon.
Too much detail
The design does not bother me in the least…it is the detail level.
TOS 1701 has a very smooth finished look, Enterprise should emulate that.
Instead they have gone with a faceted detail level that is more “realistic.” Of course if you ask me, the smooth look IS more futuristic, and they should have expanded on it for TNG era stories rather than casting it aside.
As to canon, I think the Paramount powers feel that the VFX from TOS were too poor and dated, and just want to do better.
Not a good motivation if you ask me.
