“John Doe” returning to TV

Never thought we’d need this icon again, but Sci-Fi is also adding “John Doe” to the schedule. Shame it’ll still end on a cliffhanger that will probably never be resolved.

  1. Better than Stargate, I suppose…
Not sure what the point of them airing this is. Okay, it’s a sci-fi show. That was aired 2 years ago on Fox. No hope of new episodes, ends on a cliffhanger. What’s the point of airing this?

Sure, whomever missed it the first time can catch it, but they might as well air Wonderfalls or Profit or any other sci-fi show. (maybe it was 2-fer deal with Firefly?) I’m sure this was cheaper than doing something original. And, given their track record, it’ll be better than the normal Sci-Fi schlock (BG excluded).

Because it was a good show? I would certainly hope that SciFi Channel doesn’t start airing only shows that thousands of geeks are begging for, or only shows that they’re thinking about bringing back, or only shows that have movies based on them.

John Doe was good (there were a couple of average or below episodes, but that’s true of any show doing 20+ per year). That’s reason enough in my mind for putting it on the air.

  2. Resolution
I can’t seem to find it now, but shortly after John Doe was cancelled, its creator spoke up and told what happened to John Doe that gave him the knowledge and how the Vatican was involved, etc.

I’ll keep looking for it, but I remember thinking it was good of them not to really leave people hanging (You should hear my wife talking about Reunion being cancelled, now there’s a show that deserves resolution…)

          Here’s a link to Fox’s explanation:

Well I think the whole part in his sucky reason about John Dying is a load of garbage. They most likely just didnt want to do the show anymore. Lazy bumms

Fox tossed off Firefly (remember te film, Serenity) after a screwing up and only showing part of its first season. They tossed of John Doe too early as well.
I and many of my girl friends watched every John Doe show aired, and thought it great. Now Scifi is showing all shows in correct sequence, thus i’ve seen a few not aired on Fox. I’m burning them all to DVD.

There was a show like this in the 1960s, one summer, when tehy used to have special new programs in the summer in the networks. I think it was on ABC. It was called Coronet Blue. A guy everyw eek is trying to find out who he is asd peopel shoot at him. He would talk to this bartender. He wasn’t super smart.

[the theme song wasn’t Secret Afent. Back then there were some hot instrumental lead ins to shows. Burkes Law had one, The Avengers had one, other shows I can’t remember. It was one of these other songs. Secret Agent Man (Danger Man) was a different show with that theme song, the guy from the Prisoner played him (and probably still did in the Prisoner
