all of the episodes of season one are now available
for free download/streaming from AOL’s new
television on demand video service, In2TV. Bone
up on your “V” or “Wonder Woman” knowledge while
you’re at it. Note: this site requires the
installation of a plug-in, “AOL Hi-Q Video” from AOL
that’s Windows XP-only. Streaming viewing is also
available for people with Windows Media Player.
I’d like to support legal methods of downloading such
as this one, but as I’ve already got every episode of
all three of those series on DVD, I think I’ll pass
for now.

    I know it makes sense to have S1 of B5 for DL vs season 2.. but season 1 of B5 had a real cheese quality. Payoff for watching does come through, but not in that season. Of couse, it’s an old show and they’ve got their money, so it’s smart to release it and gain what fanbase they can from it.

    I like that they’re offering a broad spectrum of shows with more than a few ‘out there’ offerings. It shows that they understand the ‘cult’ market that will use their service.

    I mean, ‘Freakazoid’ and ‘Adventures of Brisco County Jr.’? Sweet. After all, not everyone can afford to purchase DVD boxed sets of every program they like.

    I do wish that they had not chosen to use their own media format to publish these shows in, although I suppose it’s slightly better than yet another lame DRM scheme (SONY). Still, it does cut off the Mac and Linux crowds completely.

        Hell, it’s even cutting off the Windows XP crowd. At least I can’t get the darn thing to work. I submit photographic proof of this.

        That’s weird. I wonder if it’s failing to recognige the x64 edition…
        <BR><BR>I think the use of their own format must be for some measure of anti-piracy, at least making someone try to convert it before burning it. It won’t work though, because given enough time, we can convert anything. I do have to admit, this is a cool development because it means that the tv industry is at least trying to see the benefit of providing downloads.

        Hmmm. Compatibility mode? Try running the 32 bit IE in compatibility mode for Winders XP. :/ That sucks. See what you get for being an early adopter? :(

        Actually, if I had an x86-64 chip I’d be running Win 64 myself. I have bit envy. :)

          I have an X86-64 chip and I run regular 32-bit XP. Driver support for 64bit Windows is still iffy and most programs don’t take advantage of the 64bitness. Plus I have some older 16bit games which aren’t supported on 64bit. Hell, most Windows programs don’t even take advantage of the dual cpu’s.

          64-bit for the home Windows consumer is marketing hype for now, maybe in another 5 years it’ll be worth it. Linux, on the other hand……

            Yeah, well, to get many older games to run "right," you’ll have to get something like DOSbox anyway.

            Also, Half-Life 2 and World of Warcraft both have native 64-bit executables, which is all a lot of people will care about anyway…

            Besides, the SysWow64 emulator is good enough for me to play City Of Heroes, which is all I’m really interested in. :D

          I’ll have to try compatibility mode, I think, later today.

          Also, note that there’s just about no way to get Win64 on a computer anyway. I don’t think anybody actually sells ’em that way — the 64-bit features are more promising at this time to high-end business customers who are all buying Windows Server 2003. I just got it through work (love that Microsoft Action Pack).

        It hasn’t been officially announced, but they just wrapped up voting for the cover art. Expect it early this summer; I’ll include it in my weekly DVD picks when the time comes.

    I will be excited when I can download it to my CL Zen Vision:M and watch it in my car at lunch.
