Weekly Comics Discussion – March 29, 2006

As always, the complete list of releases is here.

DC Comics

  • ACTION COMICS #837 – I believe this is part of the
    8-part
storyline kicking off One Year Later.
  • ALL STAR SUPERMAN #3 – This very well reviewed
    series continues.
  • BLUE BEETLE #1 – There’s a new man behind the
    mask.
  • GREEN LANTERN #10 – The One Year Later entry.

Marvel Comics

  • ALIAS OMNIBUS – Contains the complete series.
    It’s good, and
should be checked out. This will be the one and only
    printing.
  • CAPTAIN AMERICA 65TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL – Could
    be interesting.
  • DAREDEVIL VOL 13 THE MURDOCK PAPERS TP – I’ll
    finally finish off
the Bendis run on the title. Review to follow.
  • ESSENTIAL NOVA VOL 1 TP – Tempting, but not in the
    budget.
  • FANTASTIC FOUR #536 – JMS continues his run.
  • INFINITY WAR TP – I collected this way back when
    it first came
out. I might pick it up out of nostalgia some
    day.
  • NEW AVENGERS ILLUMINATI SPECIAL – Kicking off
    Civil War in style.
  • THING #5 – Dan Slott’s well reviewed series.
  • ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #92 – We’ll finally learn more
    about Ultimate
    Deadpool.
  • UNCANNY X-MEN #471 – Claremont’s run is nearing
    the end.

  1. Tag & Bink
Tag and Bink are returning to the Star Wars universe this week, in the "Star Wars Return of Tag & Bink Special Edition #1 (of 2)".

These two characters–and they are definitely "characters"–were on the rebel ship at the beginning of Star Wars, and they donned Imperial stormtrooper uniforms to escape. Well, they then wound up involved in nearly every event in the original trilogy–but as Imperials and not as rebels. The original Tag & Bink series was quite funny, and I’m hoping this follow-up series will be just as good.
