The DVD pickings are a little slim this week.

First, the genre releases:

• 3rd Rock from
  the Sun: The Best Episodes in the Universe: A “Best of” collection
  for those who don’t want the complete seasons.
• The Chronicles
  of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe: Bound to be a
  top seller.
• Garbage Pail
  Kids – The Complete Series: I had completely forgotten they even
  had a series.
• Knight Rider –
  Season Four: This was the final season of the series.
• The Mel Brooks
  Box Set Collection: Includes Blazing Saddles, Young
  Frankenstein (which is why it’s in the genre list), Silent
  Movie, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, To Be or Not to
  Be, History of the World, Part One, The Twelve
  Chairs and High Anxiety.
• The Science
  Fiction Cliffhanger Collection: Three old sci-fi serials in one box.
• Tripping The
  Rift – Season Two: This almost seemed interesting, until I learned
  of Chuck Austen’s involvement.

Now, the non-genre releases:

• Blue
  Thunder: The Roy Scheider helicopter flick.
• Brokeback
  Mountain: One of this year’s big Oscar winners. Directed by Ang
  Lee, who won for best director.
• Carole
  Lombard: The Glamour Collection: One of three well price glamour
  collections out this week.
• Crash (2 Disk
  Director’s Cut Edition): I bought the theatrical edition mere days
  before this was announced. This won best picture at the Oscars this
  year.
• David Spade
  Collection: In case you’re shopping for someone you really, truly
  despise.
• Dawson’s
  Creek: The Complete Sixth Season: Classic WB.
• Full House –
  The Complete Third Season: The “David Spade Collection” too good
  for the individual you’re shopping for? Get this instead!
• Mae West: The
  Glamour Collection: The second collection in this line.
• Magnum P.I. –
  The Complete Fourth Season: One of the best 1970s detective shows.
• Marlene
  Dietrich: The Glamour Collection: The third such collection.
• Nine to Five –
  Sexist, Egotistical, Lying Hypocrital Bigot Edition: Now that’s
  got to be a more eye-catching title than “special edition.”
• The A-Team –
  Season Four: Goes well with Knight Rider.
• The World’s
  Greatest Lover: The Gene Wilder comedy.

Finally, the pick of the week. Of those that I’ve seen, Magnum
P.I. is the pick, though I suspect that might be different if I’d
found time to watch Crash by now.
