Weekly DVD Picks – April 4, 2005

The DVD pickings are a little slim this week.

First, the genre releases:

Now, the non-genre releases:

Finally, the pick of the week. Of those that I’ve seen, Magnum
P.I.
is the pick, though I suspect that might be different if I’d
found time to watch Crash by now.

  1. High Anxiety
I hope this comes out as a standalone disc at some point – I’ve been wanting it on DVD for a long long time. I already have all the others that I want from that boxed set.

  2. Tripping the Rift
Season 1 was amusing at times, but season 2 look liked it dropped 3/4rs of the budget and at least half the script-writing braincell power – it was awefully badly animated and the stories were ten times worse than the first season. Who’s this Chuck Austen guy anyway?

  3. Mel Brooks "Collection"
How can they seriously, I mean really seriously call it a Mel Brooks collection and not include Spaceballs? The concept baffles my mind.

Yeah, I thought about that after posting my comment. Maybe they just assume everyone already has that one. They did just release a special edition of it recently, too.

MGM owns Spaceballs, and this is a 20th Century Fox release.
