Supernatural Discussion – “Something Wicked”

Ogre
writes, Just out of curiosity, what happened to
the Supernatural reviews? I’m enjoying the show
immensely. The most recent episode, “Something Wicked”
even has a Simpson’s connection. Sam is at the library
and finds the creature has also been reported in the
towns of Ogdenville, North Haverbrook, and Brockway
(the same towns that have Monorails in “Marge vs. the
Monorail”. Anyway, keep up the great work. I love the
site.
We only reviewed the first episode, but
had discussion columns up for a while. I’ve just been
forgetting to post them this year. If I miss again,
just drop something in the sub queue to your left to
remind us.

  1. This Way Comes….
I have to admit, the writers faked me out – I figured out that the Striga had fed on Sam back in the day, but I thought it was the nurse, not the doctor. I shouldn’t be surprised, though, as they have had consistently well-written, well-acted episodes and are usually able to make me jump in my seat at least once an episode.

One thing I am hoping for with this show is some tie-in merchandising with a soundtrack/music compilation (and now that the WB has it following Smallville it seems somewhat closer). I really enjoy the music in this show – I think the season highlight was in the episode "Reaper" when they faded in Don’t Fear the Reaper to actually introduce the Reaper.

Fiziko, are you watching this? It really strikes me as something you would like, especially knowing how big an X-Files fan you are.

love this show. though i did however see it coming. i look forward to this show much more than i do smallville anymore. that show has basically stalled this season…

as someone who grew up in the eighties, i have to agree with you regarding the music. i can’t remember what this episode started off with (i know it was an Ozzy song), but no matter what the episodes about it always seems the song they pick is appropriate.

i agree. at the beginning of the tv season, i was looking forward to the genre shows the big networks were bringing out. supernatural was something i figured i’d watch but wouldn’t realy care about. suprisingly, i ditched all the major network shows in favor of supernatural after only a few weeks.
