Weekly Comics Discussion – May 3, 2006

This week sees the end of DC’s Infinite
Crisis
and the beginning of Marvel’s Civil
War
. There’s some other
stuff
, too, but who’s really going to notice with
those two out?

DC Comics

  • BIZARRO WORLD SC
  • BLUE BEETLE SECOND PTG #1 – Another chance to read
    this new series.
  • INFINITE CRISIS #7 (OF 7) – No doubt DC’s biggest
    seller this
week. Marvel has a title out that may give it a run
    for its money,
    though.
  • NEIL GAIMANS NEVERWHERE #7 (OF 9)
  • SUPERGIRL – Also available in a variant
    edition.

Marvel Comics

  • ANNIHILATION SILVER SURFER #2 (OF 4)
  • CIVIL WAR #1 (OF 7) – I admit that I’m pumped for
    this one. All
of the advance word says it’s great.
  • ESSENTIAL CLASSIC X-MEN VOL 2 TP – If I didn’t
    have the DVD-ROM,
I’d be getting this collection from the 1960s.
  • EXILES #80
  • FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #8 – Peter David
    and Mike
    Wieringo continue a decent series.
  • HULK VISIONARIES PETER DAVID VOL 3 TP – Possibly
    the character’s
    defining writer.
  • ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #94 – The Ultimate Deadpool
    story continues.
  • ULTIMATE WOLVERINE VS HULK DIRECTORS CUT – If you
    didn’t get it
the first time, get it now.
  • UNCANNY X-MEN OMNIBUS VOL 1 HC – A huge collection
    of Claremont
    era stuff.
  • X-MEN THE END MEN AND X-MEN #5 (OF 6) – This saga
    is almost complete.

Also shipping this week is the 40 Years of the
Avengers
DVD-ROM collection, which is a heck of a
price for all of those issues.
