Weekly DVD Picks – June 20, 2006

Fans of Superman, rejoice. All others, move along; there’s nothing to see here.

First, the genre releases:

Now, the non-genre releases:

The pick of the week is the second season of Justice League. Those guys understood Superman better than the creators of the other products out this month, and Justice League is just plain better than the Superman solo series.

Yes! That’d be my pick of the week, and one I’ve been waiting for for quite a while!

    • Look! Up in the sky!
      "It’s a bird!"

Why was he excited by the thought that he saw a bird?

The documentary doesn’t have anything on the origin fans won’t already know, but it’s a good documentary, and includes some footage I hadn’t seen before: George Reeves as Superman on I Love Lucy, clips from the rarely-shown, never-aired Superpup pilot, scenes from the Superman musical.

There’s a fair bit from the forthcoming movie, but that’s no surprise.

      • RE: politically incorrect
While Charlie Chan understandably rattles modern sensibilities, the character is less offensive than most people assume.
