Can the late Aaliyah still act?

At the risk of being insensitive, this petition is just kooky. They could get away with keeping Brandon Lee in “The Crow” because the film was more-or-less done, but Aaliyah had only filmed a few scenes in “The Matrix: Reloaded” before her untimely death last month. Is keeping her scenes in the movie a fitting tribute to a fine R&B singer and budding actress, or is it just something out of a bad Monty Python sketch?

  1. Well…
If the directors and producers can find a non-cheesy way of fading out the late Aaliyah’s character, then I’d say keep them. However, if there is no non-cheesy way of doing such a thing, then those scenes should probably be saved for the DVD Edition of the movie.

Actually I had heard that almost all her scenes were already shot before the crash.

There may be no need for a cheesy fade out of any sort.

Even if that’s the case, they’ll have to do something to explain her character’s disappearance between the second and third movies.

Reports seem to vary. The SciFi Wire said that she’d only filmed a few sound-stage scenes, with the bulk of her work still pending (in Australia, IIRC). Other sites say she was almost done, and that they could pull off a Brandon Lee with her scenes. I shrug.
