  1. Bureau thoughts?
Without LOST on tv I spent my Wednesday nigt playing Trivial Pursuit with the Mrs.

Was this show any good? I thought the premise was pretty dumb. Ground Hog’s day was a great movie but I would never have wanted it to become a TV show.

It sounds like Tru Calling with a dash of Early Edition and Groundhog Day – I liked all those, so I might give it a chance.

I gave Torchwood a chance, and that seems to be paying off.

I watched the pilot and I’m eager for the next part.

Going in, I too was thinking "More Groundhog Day?" and wasn’t sure how they could make something I’d want to keep watching.

But the situation is complex; we don’t know what is going on, and we struggle with the protagonist to work out what’s happening and why. Unlike Groundhog Day, where every day is more-or-less the same, in the pilot, our guy got to try some radically different actions.

One twist on the Groundhog day model for reliving the same day is that if you get hurt one day, you wake up with those injuries the next (and have to try to explain to an incredulous world how you got them).

If you liked Lost, I think you would have liked this show. Like Lost, the more you learn, the more intrigued you are as to what exactly is going on.

The premise (and spots) make it sound totally stupid – but the show it self is totally brilliant. One word of warning though, you’ll probably want to pay attention to what happens, so if you generally surf the internet, knit, nap, take the dog for a walk during shows you may not want to watch this.

Its great – it may be the same day over and over, but its a totally different show because he makes different choices all the time which takes us in different directions.

And they claim its one plottet story which runs over 13 episodes – so after that its over, not like lost where they keep inventing new stuff.
