We’ve got another week with very little of interest. January is a really dry month for DVD collectors.
First, the genre releases:
- Disgaea – The Netherworld Prince (Vol. 1)
- Doom Asylum (Uncut Edition): When this makes the list, you know it’s a light week.
- Dr. Mabuse Collection: Three of the later films in the series, after Fritz Lang’s involvement ended.
- Flame of Recca, Vol. 10: The Final Showdown
- The Giant Majin Collection:
- The Illusionist: This is Amazon.com’s highest selling item among this week’s releases.
- Mexican Werewolf in Texas
- Mosaic: All I know is that Stan Lee is involved.
- UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie 2 V.2: Songs From The Dark Side
- Yumeria: Complete Collection
Now, the non-genre releases:
- 10th and Wolf
- Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection: It’s a six disc set, presumably of Hitchcock’s older, British films. Specific titles aren’t listed.
- Bandidas: A western I’ve never heard of starring Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz.
- Crank: This sounds like the medical version of Speed. Also available on Blu-ray.
- Extras – The Complete First Season: A British show I’ve heard great things about.
- MI-5, Volume 4
- Sergeant Preston of the Yukon, Season 2
- Siberiade (Complete and Uncut Version): A film I’ve heard great things about, but haven’t seen.
Finally, the pick of the week.
If you really need to pick something up this week, go for the Hitchcock set or Extras. Another option is to wait for next week and the second season of the new Doctor Who.
