The following titles are due on February 27, 2007.
First, the genre releases:
- Alice in Cartoonland: I have much more faith in the quality of the Disney Rarities release in the Walt Disney Treasures series.
- Animated Passion Trilogy: This seems to be an animated, family friendly version of the Passion of the Christ.
- Autopsy
- Baki the Grappler Vol. 12: Last Blood
- Captain N: The Game Master – The Complete Series: Mega Wow! The entire 26 episode series in one package. Man, did I ever love this show.
- Filmation’s Ghostbusters – The Animated Series, Vol. 1: This is the old cartoon from the 1970s that became far more popular after the much better movie came out.
- The Immortal: The Complete Series
- Jess Franco’s Count Dracula: Franco was known for making movies the kids shouldn’t be allowed to get near.
- Kodocha Box Set V. 1-6
- The Land Before Time XII – The Great Day of the Flyers: I didn’t even watch the first XI.
- The Return
- Secret Agent (aka Danger Man) – The Complete Collection Megaset
- Stranger Than Fiction: This is a Will Ferrell movie I’m actually interested in seeing. Someone check the temperature in Hell: I think it’s getting pretty cold down there. Also available in Blu-Ray.
- Super Fuzz: A superhero police officer.
- Touched By An Angel – The Third Season, Vol. 2
Now, the non-genre releases:
- 250 Movie Family Collection
- 60 Minutes: Dissension In The Ranks
- 7th Heaven – The Complete Third Season
- Alexander – The Final Cut: A new 214 minute version.
- Alfred Hitchcock: Collectors Edition: A collection of 20 of Hitchcock’s British films.
- Another Sky
- Bob Dylan – Don’t Look Back: This is the 1965 Tour Deluxe Edition
- The Brady Bunch – The Complete Fourth Season
- The Brady Bunch – The Complete Fifth (Final) Season
- Buster Keaton Collection: An 11 hour collection of a great comedian’s work. I just wish I knew which titles were included.
- Da Vinci’s Inquest – Season One: I’ve heard nothing but fantastic things about this Canadian series. I’m seriously tempted to give it the chance I never gave it during broadcast.
- Digging for the Truth – The Complete Season Two
- Dog The Bounty Hunter – The Best of Season Three
- The Doris Day Show – Season Four
- Everybody Hates Chris – Season One
- Film Noir Boxed Set: 17 of the 21 titles Fox has released in this series to date. I’ve got the whole set so far, and have been pleased with every one I bought.
- Film Noir Collectors Edition
- George Carlin – Life is Worth Losing
- Girlfriends – The Complete First Season
- A Good Year
- Hawaii Oslo
- The Heart of the Game
- Journey to the End of the Night
- Magnum P.I. – Complete Sixth Season
- Marquee Musicals Boxed Set: Includes Daddy Long Legs, The Dolly Sisters, Down Argentine Way, Moon Over Miami, My Blue Heaven, Pin-Up Girl, and Weekend in Havana.
- Martial Arts Collectors Edition
- Masters of Comedy: Collectors Edition
- Nine Inch Nails – Live – Beside You In Time: Currently the top seller this week on Amazon.com. Also available in Blu-Ray and HD-DVD formats.
- Oscar Gift Set: Includes Crash and Monster’s Ball.
- Reno 911! – Reno’s Most Wanted
- Rockford Files – Season Three: A serious contender for the Pick of the Week.
- Seinfeld Collection: The Complete Seasons 1-7 (Amazon Exclusive): A suspect the non-exclusive package will be the one with all nine seasons.
- Studio Classics Collection Box Set: Another great deal on quality movies, if you buy a whole heck of a lot of them.
- Western Heroes: Collectors Edition
- WWII Collectors Edition
Finally, the pick of the week. As tempting as Rockford is, I’ve got to go with the nostalgia of Captain N: The Game Master. This is only the 30 minute format, so it doesn’t have the Gameboy or Super Mario combinations, but it does have a lot of fun for those of us who had a lot of fun with the old 8 bit Nintendo system. Particularly since the games at the time weren’t complex enough for character personalities; this was the first time we knew anything about Simon Belmont other than his whip handling skills.
