Weekly DVD Picks – March 20, 2007

Here’s the latest round of DVD picks. Later today, there will be another Civil War review.

First, the genre releases:

Now, the non-genre releases:

Finally, the pick of the week. I haven’t seen many of these. Of those few I’ve seen, “Justice League Unlimited” is the best, but I’m very interested in seeing “Naked City” before making my final choice.

  1. Pick
    My pick is season 5 of Newsradio. Nowhere near as good as the first 4 seasons, but I’m getting it anyway. In fact, I preordered it a few weeks ago.

    I think the Shatner roast should be in Genre, or at least we should have anew ‘crap’ section (;

      You know, I could probably fill a "crap" section very, very easily. I sifted through almost 350 releases to come up with this list.

        Could you remind me where you get the full list? I forgot where it was and I can’t find it now ):

          Amazon.com -> DVD section -> New and Future releases -> relevant week

      You know, I felt that the Lovitz season of Newsradio was annoying when it was first-run, and in fact I stopped watching the show. But, when I started watching the show in rerun I came around very fast. I now refer to it as the non-Hartman season and like it quite a lot. It didn’t deserve to be abandoned so quickly by the fan base. Heck, just the Johnny Johnson (Patrick Warburton for the uninitiated) episodes should be enough to make Newsradio fans happy…and the last episode was a great way to end the show.

  2. Joan of Arcadia
    Fun show. It’s unfortunate they ended the series (after season #2) on a bit of a cliffhanger.

      Agreed, I enjoyed that show too. And they were finally going to take it in a somewhat interesting direction – adding an adversary, which they didn’t really have before. Too bad it died.

  3. Tubbs and Crockett FTW.
    *ahem*

    Sweet! Miami Vice Season 3 and 4! (I know this sounds really stupid, but I wasn’t born when the show first came on the air, and I recently discovered the show, and it was much better than I originally thought it would be – you just have to look past the polyester and pastels).

    But, anyway, are there any plans to review "Stan Lee Presents – The Condor"?
