      I get here from /. too… ;)

Anyway, what I don’t get is what the hell is all the fuss over Hary Potter?

Would somebody please explain it to me? What’s the big deal?

      • I just don’t get it
What I want to know is can anyone tell me why I should draw any conclusion other than this movie being intended solely for children when they attach the trailer to a movie like Harry Potter? You’d think George would at least want us to think it’s going to be a movie worth watching instead of a chance to show off stupid alien effects for 8 year olds.

The Monsters, Inc. thing I can understand; I know several people over the age of, say, 12 who want to see that. I, along with everyone I know, must just be missing something about that Harry Potter stuff I guess.

It’s probably best to let Dave field this one, but I’m a little confused myself. I haven’t read the books yet (yet being the operative word,) but I know several people over the age of 12 (including my thesis supervisor) who love Harry Potter and are eagerly anticipating the movie. I do agree that the target audience is in the preteens, but at least it’s probably designed for all ages to enjoy. (If it was aimed solely at kids, it would not have a 150 minute running time. I take the length as a good sign that they focussed on the story more than churning out a money-maker.)

By the way, we should have a major Star Wars trailer-related event ready for you as soon as Dave checks his e-mail. Watch the front page.
