This is the first week in the new format. Let me know how it works for you.
First, the DVD releases:
- 3 Needles
- All That Jazz – Music Edition
- Attack of the Gryphon: Starring Amber Benson
- Aurora Borealis: That’s one heck of a cast.
- Bedazzled: This is the Stanley Donen original, not the Harold Ramis remake. I haven’t seen it, but I’m betting it’s better than the remake, which I have seen.
- Betty Boop (Two Disc Collector’s Edition with Keychain)
- Black Christmas
- Bong Water – Scratch ‘n’ Sniff Edition
- Brady Bunch – The Complete Series: This comes wrapped in shag carpet. You gotta love that.
- Charlotte’s Web
- Daniel Boone – Cain’s Birthday, Parts 1 and 2
- Daniel Boone – High Cumberland, Parts 1 and 2
- Defenders of the Earth – The Complete Series, Vol. 2: If it’s the complete series, can it really have a volume number?
- Desmond’s: The Complete First and Second Series
- Entourage – Season Three, Part One
- Freeway
- Godzilla Raids Again: Contains the Japanese and U.S. versions
- The Good Shepherd
- Law and Order – The Fifth Season
- Mothra vs. Godzilla: The same deluxe treatment as “Godzilla Raids Again.”
- The Natural (Director’s Cut)
- The Pink Panther Classic Cartoon Collection, Volume 5 – Ant Aardvark
- Roseanne – Season Seven: I don’t know if this was the year Joss Whedon was involved or not.
- S*P*Y*S: Elliott Gould and Donald Sutherland, presumably post M*A*S*H.
- She-Ra – Princess of Power – Season One, Vol. 2
- Twin Peaks – The Second Season: Years after the release of season one, we finally get season two.
- Volver
Now, the Blu-Ray releases:
Here is the HD DVD release:
Finally, the pick of the week.
I must be working too much. Based on reputation, I’d go with the second season of Twin Peaks, but the only thing I’ve seen on this list is G.I. Jane. That wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good enough for me to expect it to be the best available title in any week it’s released.
