  1. The IT Crowd
I just hope this is as good as the American Office is, since the British version was one of the greatest things I ever had the pleasure to watch.

    Moss ftw!

I can’t agree with you, I thought the US edition of The Office was pretty bland, overdone and generally a waste of time. I mean, they seemed to hire people on whether they looked like the British originals rather than acting ability, that’s hardly a good start, is it?

What would have been better was simply licensing the original show and broadcasting it, rather than trying to pretend that an American TV station came up with an original idea.

What an incredibly bizarre statement. If you don’t like the show, that’s certainly a valid point of view, but exactly which characters on the American version of The Office look like the characters on the British version? The closest would be Jim and Tim, and they’re not all that close. And, if you can’t recognize the comedic skills of at least Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson…well, that’s just sad for you.

Further, I don’t think there was any pretense that NBC’s version of The Office is a fresh, new idea. It was well promoted in advance that it was based on the BBC show, and said BBC show was already quite popular in the US.

Like it or don’t, but nothing you said about the show is true.

The BBC version made me laugh, the US version just leaves me with a puzzled look on my face.

I hope the NBCing of the I.T. Crowd, doesn’t trash it too.

Luckily I have the BBC version on disk.

I’ve been told by a number of people that I’m weird as I enjoy both the American and British versions of The Office. I find the British version to be painfully funny, and far closer to my own experiences in that environment, whereas the American version tends to make me laugh out loud (and is possibly closer to my former co-workers’ environment with me).

Anyways, since I found the British IT Crowd to be quite funny, I’m hoping that I find the American one to be funnier, rather than painful.

To tell the truth, I wasn’t impressed with the British IT Crowd to start with. Mildly amusing, but I didn’t make past the first couple episodes. Just too lame.

I thought the american version of Coupling was ok, but it wasn’t up to the British, for whatever that’s worth…

I always thought the American version of "Coupling" played out as the bad "Friends" knockoff that the UK version somehow avoided being.

  2. I think the Bionic Woman looks great
And it looks like Katee might have a recurring role. Duel of the überwomen!

The video is out at the NBC site. Had to dig a little, but got to see it.

I don’t know if I agree with them marketing this as a redo of a "clasic", the original was a spinnoff of The Bionic Man. Next they will tell us that The Love Boat was a "classic".

I’ll wait and see. Battlestar worked out, this could too.
