Weekly Comics Discussion – July 4, 2007

Note that many U.S. locations won’t get their shipments until tomorrow. The complete list, as always, is here.

DC Comics

  • ACTION COMICS #851
  • ALL STAR SUPERMAN #8
  • AMAZING TRANSFORMATIONS OF JIMMY OLSEN TP
  • AMERICAN VIRGIN #16
  • BLACK CANARY #1 (OF 4)
  • COUNTDOWN 43
  • DETECTIVE COMICS #834
  • GOLDEN AGE DR FATE ARCHIVES VOL 1
  • NIGHTWING #134
  • OUTSIDERS #49
  • SUPERGIRL #19
  • SUPERNATURAL ORIGINS #3
  • Y THE LAST MAN #57

Image Comics

  • ASTOUNDING WOLF-MAN #2 – I picked up #1 on Free Comic Book Day. It wasn’t bad. If you missed it then, there’s a director’s cut out today.

Marvel Comics

  • CAPTAIN AMERICA WAR & REMEMBRANCE TP NEW PTG – This has been out of print for quite a while. Collects issues 247-255 of the first volume.
  • DARK TOWER GUNSLINGER BORN (OF 7)
  • ESSENTIAL DEFENDERS VOL 3 TP
  • FALLEN SON DEATH OF CAPTAIN AMERICA IRON MAN – The final Civil War tie-in. I’ll review this quickly, then review Civil War #1-7 as a whole, and post a column wrapping up the entire Civil War.
  • INVADERS CLASSIC VOL 1 TP
  • IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #10 – The World War Hulk crossover issue of a well reviewed series due to be cancelled with issue 12, unless the digest collections sell really, really well.
  • LONERS #4 (OF 6)
  • MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE #1
  • MARVEL ZOMBIES ARMY OF DARKNESS #5 (OF 5)
  • MS MARVEL #17 – Part of the Initiative
  • NEW AVENGERS TRANSFORMERS #1 (OF 4) – This could be interesting.
  • NEW WARRIORS #2 – Part of the Initiative
  • RUNAWAYS #27 – Joss Whedon’s third issue of six.
  • THOR #1 – The new series by J. Michael Straczynski and Olivier Copiel. This will be the other review this weekend, if all goes as scheduled (which will be tough to do.)
  • ULTIMATE POWER (OF 9)
  • UNCANNY X-MEN #488
