  1. Gee, maybe they’ll remake Rocky Horror, too

    Keanu C. Reeves was ill
The Day the Earth Stood Still
But he told us where we stand
    And Flash Gordon took trips
    Without a rocket ship
Alba’s dye job, the Invisible Woman
    Then something went wrong
    For Naomi and Kong
They got caught in a CGI jam….

      DO NOT give them ideas!!!

    • Re: No! No! No!

We do -not- need a remake of this movie.

True, but if you build it, they will come, with fists full of monies.
I guess now’s the time to go get the DVD before they get pulled from the shelves or marked up.

      Sigh…

Of course not. In fact we don’t need any movie. I go to movies to be entertained, not to continue my survival. I will never understand why people gnash their teeth in anguish at the thought of some movies. Damn, if it bugs you that much don’t go see it. Life will go on, I promise.

I, personally, will go see it. I will be entertained or I won’t. But one thing is certain, when I leave the theater my life will remain intact.

  2. Wow
There are not many black and white movies I like, and this is one of them. They better not screw it up. That there is even the suggestion of Keanu doesn’t give me much hope.

If it was up to me, I’d pick Michael O’Hare – at least he looks a little like the character.

  3. Woah!
In this reimagined version, the army will fire on Klaatu’s ship, and Gort will rain destruction on the army while Klaatu stands by, jaw open, exclaiming ‘Woah!’.

Finally, the young boy who befriended Klaatu will hook his Nintendo into the ship’s computer and crash both Gort and the ship by asking for the last digit of PI.

When Gort and the ship crash to the ground, Klaatu will display his conflicting emotions of horror and appreciation of the boy’s mad skills with a conflicted, ‘Woah!’.

    • Re: The one mistake they made…

was not casting Keanu as Gort.

I’m betting Gort will be a CGI creation that does all manner of impressive-looking but pointless things they can feature in the advertising.

  4. No, dude! Noooooooooooooooooo!
I swear that this man is on a mission to destroy every piece of quality genre from my childhood.

Thank God that (a) he isn’t part of Watchmen, and (b) Buckaroo Banzai never made enough money to be remade.
