Amazon.com still doesn’t have an alphabetical listing. Sorting by price helps sometimes, but there are still irregularities at the $9.99, $16.99 and $17.99 price points (which are so popular that they fill several screens worth of results), so I may still be missing some releases. I’ve cross checked again the first five screens of best sellers, so I hope I haven’t missed any.
First, the DVD releases:
- 30 Rock – Season 1
- Alibi
- Ayakashi – Samurai Horror Tales, Vol. 3
- Be Yourself!
- Bernard and the Genie: Starring Rowan Atkinson and Alan Cumming
- The Black Donnellys – The Complete Series: Very tempting. I missed this on the air due to my work schedule. (I was in a plane while each of the first three episodes aired.) I wanted to see it, though, as it was created by Paul Haggis, a man who just became the first person in history to write two consecutive “Best Picture” Oscar winning movies. He also created “Due South” and wrote the final draft of “Casino Royale.”
- Bosom Buddies – The Second Season
- Cheech and Chong’s Up In Smoke (High-Larious Edition)
- Chill Out Scooby-Doo!
- Christmas Classics Gift Set: Includes seven unspecified Rankin/Bass Christmas specials, though the package is clearly illustrated with images from “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Frosty The Snowman,” and “The Year Without Santa Claus.” If this is a box set including the same pressings that were originally released, it’ll also includes “Frosty Returns,” “Nestor, The Long-Eared Christmas Donkey,” “Rudolph’s Shiny New Year” and “Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys.”
- Delta Farce
- Desperate Housewives – The Complete Third Season
- Diamonds Are Forever
- Digi Charat Nyo Vol. 3

Now, the Blu-Ray releases:
Here are the HD DVD releases:
Finally, the pick of the week. While there is definitely good stuff here, nothing’s really spectacular. Given that the September TV and October summer blockbuster market floods are just around the corner, I recommend waiting a few weeks and deciding if this week’s releases are really the ones you want to budget for.
Woo
Yeah! Octopussy is the last Bond movie I actually want that I don’t have yet!
And I’m also excited about season 2 of Robot Chicken. Count that as my pick of the week.
Re: Woo
All I know of Robot Chicken is the music video for "Weasel Stomping Day," but it certainly piqued my interest.
Another Classic Re-imagined
You’ll find a fair bit of Robot Chicken at Youtube, including some superhero bits and this classic.
