We asked, and you answered: our readers want TV episode discussion columns at the very least, and reviews when possible. I’ve assembled a list of shows that may be of interest to our readers, and their season and series premier dates. If there are other shows you’d like to see discussed here, please comment. Everything listed below will have either a discussion column or review with each new episode.
Monday, September 24, 2007
- Heroes, season two premier
- Chuck, series premier
- Journeyman, series premier
Tuesday, September 25, 2007
- Reaper, season premier directed by Kevin Smith
Wednesday, September 26, 2007
- Bionic Woman, series premier
- Lost, season four premier
Thursday, September 27, 2007
- Smallville, season seven starts (full reviews continue)
Friday, September 28, 2007
- Stargate Atlantis: season four premier
Thursday, October 1, 2007
- Supernatural, season three
Saturday, November 24, 2007
- Battlestar Galactica: season four (following the ten “Razor” miniepisodes which star October 1)
List additions requested in the comments below will also be included here. Doctor Who will also be covered, but I couldn’t find the next premier date after an admittedly short search.
SG: Atlantis and Doctor Who
TMN doesn’t list season 4 on its series page for Atlantis but if you check their main schedule, it starts it in its usual 8pm Monday time slot on October 1.
Season 3 of Doctor Who is finishing up on CBC, with episode 12 airing Monday Sept. 24. A BBC press release shows another Christmas special this year (which isn’t really news), and Season 4 airing "Spring 2008". I suspect CBC will show it starting in July again, due to NHL playoffs. No idea what the US broadcast schedule is like.
Lost Season 4
Lost is on this list for September 26. I’m pretty sure it doesn’t start back until February.
Re: Lost Season 4
I got that from ABC’s website.
Re: Lost Season 4
ABC’s site isn’t loading right for me, but TVGuide.com lists Dancing With the Stars, Private Practice, and Dirty Sexy Money as the shows from 8pm – 11pm EDT on ABC, Wednesday the 26th. No Lost :(
One more!
The Sarah Jane Adventures starts on Monday, too.
BSG already?
I’m surprised to see BSG starts in November. Does this mean the Pegasus movie isn’t coming out or something? I haven’t been following the latest on the show.
Pushing Daisies
An argument could be made that Pushing Daisies (Starts Wed 10/3) is genre, as it deals with someone who can raise the dead, but it’s a close call…
Re: Pushing Daisies
Having seen the pilot for Pushing Daisies, I can say that it is definitely a "Genre show" … using the term in the broader, co-opted, scifi/fantasy/superhero/comic culture sense under which Reaper, Journeyman, and Supernatural are considered Genre shows ("which genre?" "The ‘Genre’ genre — with a capital G.")
It’s definitely the most original, stylistic, and visually impressive shows on this fall. (and i’ve seen the pilots for all of this falls new genre shows)
