I was wondering about Hiro But it seems like 4 months later doesn’t apply to timeline stories.
Also, OMG a gaijin? A blond, blue eyed gaijin?
Aside from that, all and all a pretty good wrap up of where they’re at and where they’re going.

It would have made more sense if he was Dutch, since they were the only Europeans allowed after 1635. Of course, we don’t speak Dutch and neither does Hiro, so an Englishman is Mighty Convenient. (Maybe a British guy on a Dutch ship? I guess that could work.)
Otsu is a real city in Japan, on the ancient Tokaido road between Kyoto and Edo (Toykyo), on the shore of lovely Lake Biwa. The famous haiku poet Basho is buried there. I visited there this spring, so it was extra-cool to see it mentioned!
It didn’t suck! I’m glad the show is off to a good start. It was a lot of setup, but it was interesting setup :)
I was sad to see Sulu die, especially the way they killed him off. We never got to see his power (did he have any?).
Let’s hope they keep the momentum going.

In a show where people time travel, heal others or regenerate themselves, create illusions… I don’t consider people really dead until they are bried and grieved over. ESPECIALLY when they die in an ep where everyone is sad about another death, and at the end of which the other dead guy is alive and nekkid.

One can only hope. Former Japanese starship helmsmen who in real life are gay bankers and were imprisoned in a Japanese-American internment camp during World War II are woefully under-represented on television. :) Seriously, though, George Takei rocks and if you haven’t heard one of his many appearances on Howard Stern’s satellite radio show (he’s considered the official "announcer" of the show), you just haven’t lived yet.

I dunno, they had Stern on local radio for a short while, I don’t miss him at all. Had a few good synchronized laughs with other drivers in a traffic jam, but meh, vulgar for the sake of vulgar gets old fast.

For the most part, that was my attitude years ago. Having listened to the satellite version for 18 months or so, my tune has changed. The "pure vulgarity" actually forms only a very small part of the show. Believe me, if it was as you say it just wouldn’t work for what is now up to a 5-hour show 4 days a week. Heck, George Takei comes across as one of the classiest guys ever and he seems to enjoy himself hugely while he’s there.
Anyway, if you’ve got a way you can give it a single-show sampling (either via Sirius on the Internet or "other" means) I’d suggest doing so. Even I have to change the channel now and then when they go over the "gross line," but overall I think it’s the best radio available. Plus, the rest of the Sirius service is just stellar.

Linderman and Devaux did, and Mrs. Petrelli hinted to Claire that she did. So, it would seem likely that Sulu does/did as well.

In one of the last episodes of season one, Hiro’s father says that he was pleased that a Nakamura had finally "ascended". I understood that to mean that no previous member of his family (himself included) had any special ability.
