Smallville Discussion – Fierce

I had every intention of writing a full review, but something seems to have killed my Linux partition where my templates are stored. As I don’t have time to fix that and write the review, I’m just going to throw a discussion column up instead this week.

While I for one am not against seeing a beautiful woman, this episode just screamed "WE HAVE A GOOD LOOKING WOMAN, WATCH US!!!"

Again, not that I did not enjoy the show, it furthered the story along, but it was just so blatant exposure of beautiful women.

    Good: The eye candy.
Bad: The writing. My god those dialogs were painful!

Is it just me or has Chloe transfered some of her über-journalist essence to Lois, and as a result is less of a reporter than she used to be?

I had the exact same thought. I don’t think we’ve seen anything conclusive to that effect yet (perhaps not for lack of trying), but I think it’s likely that’s the direction they’re going. It would give an out to make Lois that star reporter without the obvious question of why it wasn’t Chloe.

I noticed it, and came to the conclusion that Cloe’s reporter drive came from her belief that the world deserves to know the whole truth, all the time. And finding out about Clark, as well as her own newfound secret, has reigned in that feeling.

I’ve lost touch with this show, and watching this ep reminded me why. The dialogue had me wishing for the crisp, believable writing of the Star Wars prequels.

What, you mean Chloe’s still a reporter? I just thought she’d gotten a full time job moping about because shes got a meteor power. It at this point in the story were the fact that Chloe is never mentioned by Superman needs to be explained with her death. Sorry to be harsh, but the characters got the depth of a piece of paper now, time to get it over with.

Also, is anyone else disappointed that the new editor isn’t Perry White? Too bad they used his character too soon and made him too old.

  3. Is it just me…
…or does anyone else find it extremely weird how Clark doesn’t seem remotely interested in the fact that his cousin can defy gravity and he can’t. Also, I really don’t know how Clark is going to pull off his secret identity thing with Lex.

I mostly find it weird that he’s not running off to ask the Fortress about the necklace. CLARK! YOU HAVE AN INTERACTIVE DATABASE OF ALL THINGS KRYPTONIAN! Sheesh!
