Marvel Comics

  • AVENGERS INITIATIVE BASIC TRAINING VOL 1 PREM HC – This is a great series. I haven’t had time to put together a review, but Slott’s done a great job with a large cast and a well rounded story that includes a lot of the fun and energy that originally established the Marvel Universe. Give it serious consideration.
  • BLACK PANTHER #32
  • CABLE DEADPOOL #47 – Cable is still dead, so this month Deadpool teams up with Dr. Strange and Brother Voodoo.
  • CAPTAIN AMERICA BY ED BRUBAKER OMNIBUS HC VOL 01 – This is another highly recommended item. This is also the edition exclusive to the direct market; another edition is on shelves already. This and Cable and Deadpool manage to consistently deliver Marvel’s best comics each month. This edition collects the first 25 issues of Ed Brubaker’s run, culminating with the death of Steve Rogers.
  • CIVIL WAR SCRIPT BOOK TP
  • DAREDEVIL #102 – Brubaker consistently delivers here, as well.
  • ESSENTIAL X-MEN VOL 8
  • FOOLKILLER #2 (OF 5)
  • MARVEL ATLAS #1 (OF 2) – For those who are dying to know where Madripoor and Latveria actually are.
  • MARVEL ZOMBIES 2 #2 (OF 5)
  • MOON KNIGHT ANNUAL #1
  • SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN #41 – One More Day continues.
  • SUB-MARINER (OF 6) – One of the last titles under the Initiative banner.
  • ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #116
  • WORLD WAR HULK FRONT LINE (OF 6) – The last of the pre-aftersmash WWH crossovers. I’ve decided to do the World War Hulk wrap up this weekend, after reviewing the entire Frontline miniseries. I’ll still review the Aftersmash titles, but it’ll take another six months for two miniseries to wrap up, which is a heck of a delay.
  • X-MEN #205 – Messiah Complex, chapter five. The one shot that kicked it all off gets a second printing today, as well. I’ll probably review this event as a complete package once all 13 chapters are available.
