And the next Terminator movie trilogy will move away from Arnold Schwarzenegger and introduce a totally new character in the post-apocalyptic world.

Um. In Alien we are introduced to eggs in a decrepit extraterrestrial craft previously crewed by 3rd alien species, victimized by Aliens in some ancient, undefined conflict that only gave one member of the old species to transmit a warning. We don’t know where the eggs came from. We only see face-huggers and warriors – and have no clue how they might produce eggs.
How does discovering that a queen produces eggs pretend that Alien didn’t happen?

Was this a deleted scene? while I admit it has been some time (few years) since I’ve sat through and watched them un-edited on DVD vs. catching bits here and there when they air on TV. I don’t recall that demonstration at all.
If it is a deleted scene, when was that released?

Yes it was a deleted scene. It does appear in the extras of the Director’s Cut.

So the complaint was a little deceptive. It’s not that they’re ignoring the movie, it’s that they’re ignoring scenes that were cut from the movie. The first would be blatantly obnoxious, the second… is just slightly irritating.

Because it was cut off for dramatic reasons.
And because the concept is so much better than the queen
idea: this way, there isn’t a single point of failure (kill
the queen => get rid of future aliens).
If the Alien was meant to be so incredibly dangerous, it
follows that it should self-perpetuate in the most dangerous
way, too.

I agree with both points of view actually. An individual can reproduce to avoid the "single point of failure" issue, but if the conditions are right and you have the time, you grow a queen and make the new alien process work on an industrial scale. It also removes the need for 2 separate hosts, one for the facehugger stage, and another for the egg stage.

I think about how the aliens adapt to their host species. The obvious physical changes occur in the first generation (the alien dog from A-3.) Perhaps a similar reproductive change also occurs, several generations later? Some insect species do something very similar to this (I recall reading something similar to this as an explanation for the Alien queen the first time around.)
In the presence of a queen, soldiers do not reproduce; the queen lays soldier eggs, but remove the queen (and an inhibiting influence, chemical of some sort), and soldiers reproduce asexually until they reach a certain threshhold (again a chemical/hormonal cue), then soldiers reproduce sexually, making queens.
This system is natural to some terrestrial bugs. :)
