Up for ‘Chuck’?

Chuck returns for two new episodes this Thursday night. No word on if there are any more. I checked the schedule and there’s no ‘Chuck’ the following Thursday.

Brain Warning: The two episodes are before and after Celebrity Apprentice. Shield your synapses accordingly.

NBC announced that it will broadcast what are likely the final two original first-season episodes of its hit SF series Chuck on Jan. 24 at 8 and 10 p.m., sandwiched around a new episode of The Celebrity Apprentice at 9.

NBC ordered nine additional episodes to fill out the show’s first season, but production of those must await resolution of the strike.

"We’ve only aired 11 episodes," Levi said, adding that the additional nine episodes on order won’t be started until after the strike is resolved, likely sometime next year.

"It’s nice to have a back nine, but you don’t really know what that means at the end of the day," Levi added. "You don’t know when you can go back to work. If they were to resolve the strike today, then they’d have to start writing, and the writing would take them through the rest of January, and we stop production in February."

Levi said that it wouldn’t surprise him if the network said the nine episodes would form the beginning of the second season.

  2. Uh
I’ve seen episodes 12 and 13 on, uh. Well I saw them floating around and I assumed I missed them. Are these different ones, or reruns or what? Anyone know?

They are titled: "Chuck Versus the Undercover Lover" and "Chuck Versus the Marlin." That help?

It does. Those are episodes 12 and 13 which are on torrent sites, but I’d rather watch ’em in actual HD!

They’re broadcasted in Canada yesterday, and it’s a real deal.

I’ve seen no info that they edited/changed the episodes in any way as a result of the writers strike (ie: no Heroes alternate ending to tie things up)

Keep in mind: this is all the episodes NBC originally ordered at the start of the season … depending on what kind of strategy the Producers had at the time, they either planed for the first 13 episodes to be somewhat self contained and finish off a story line (to keep fans happy in case no more episodes were ordered) or they made episode 13 a huge cliffhanger (to try and force NBC to buy more episodes to keep fans happy)

Either way: NBC had no reason to try and tweak the episodes once the strike started and it was clear they wouldn’t show any more episodes this season — a nice wrap up keeps fans happy, a cliff hanger gets them to come back next fall.

  3. Yay. *shrugs*
First off: yay for more episodes.
Secondly: I’m eager for the strike to be over so that we can get our grubby hands on more, my wife and I love it.

Then again, there’s always BSG starting in March :-)

  4. Futon Critic
Head on over to The Futon Critic, they have a gigantic list of shows, how many episodes are left to air, and when the next episode is scheduled, if any.

They confirm what you said, two episodes left, both airing on Thursday, etc. You might want to snag the genre show info and post the highlights here for those of us stuck in strike limbo…

How about some reviews or discussions of The Sarah Connor Chronicles? At least it’s new… ;-)
