Weekly Comics Discussion – February 20, 2008

The complete list can be found here.

Dark Horse Comics

  • ALIENS OMNIBUS TP VOL 03
  • CONAN #49
  • STAR WARS 30TH ANNIV COLL VOL 12 HC LEGACY
  • STAR WARS DARK TIMES #9
  • UMBRELLA ACADEMY APOCALYPSE SUITE (OF 6)

DC Comics

  • BIRDS OF PREY #115
  • BRAVE AND THE BOLD #10
  • CHECKMATE #23
  • COUNTDOWN TO FINAL CRISIS 10
  • DEATH OF THE NEW GODS (OF 8)
  • FLASH #237
  • GREEN LANTERN HC VOL 01 THE SINESTRO CORPS WAR – This was great. I know the review I keep promising is late (due to picking up more slack at work, when a second colleague ended up in the hospital), but I will get it done, and it will be positive pretty much across the board. This was the most enjoyable event for me last year.
  • JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #18
  • SPIRIT #14
  • SUPERMAN BATMAN #46
  • WORLD OF WARCRAFT #4

Dynamite Entertainment Comics

  • BATTLESTAR GALACTICA CYLON APOCALYPSE TP – Not a bad series. Again, my reviews are late.
  • BATTLESTAR GALACTICA ORIGINS #3

Checker Comics

  • SOJOURN VOL 6 A BERSERKERS TALE TP

IDW Comics

  • ANGEL AFTER THE FALL #4

Image Comics

  • INVINCIBLE #48
  • WITCHBLADE #111 – This is a $10 variant cover release.

Marvel Comics

  • AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #551 – Wrapping up the first six issues of “Brand New Day,” this ends the set that will be collected in hardcover this May. I’ll try to review this too, when I get back in town on Sunday.
  • CABLE DEADPOOL #50 – The final issue of this great series. We know Cable’s getting a solo title in March, and rumour has it that Deadpool will go solo again this summer.
  • HULK #2
  • INCREDIBLE HERCULES #114
  • IRON MAN #26
  • MIGHTY AVENGERS #9
  • RUNAWAYS #29 – Whedon’s second last issue.
  • ULTIMATE HUMAN #2 (OF 4) – Issue #1 was pretty good.
  • ULTIMATE X-MEN #91 – Part 2 of 4 in Kirkman’s final arc, dealing with Ultimate Apocalypse.
  • ULTIMATES 3 #3 (OF 5) – Available in two covers.
  • WORLD WAR HULK AFTERSMASH WARBOUND #3 (OF 5) – I’ll review this when all five issues are out.

    • Re: Keep watching for Watchmen

The Watchmen movie has completed filming. Of course, this film will have significant post-production.

I haven’t been keeping up (never read it, I know, I know)… can you tell yet if it’s going to be a Fantastic Four suck fest or an Iron Man spot-on adaptation?
