We had a huge superhero movie open last week, and we’re days away from the continuation of a massive franchise from the 1980s. Guess what’s coming this week…
First, the DVD releases:
- Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers – The Collection, Vol. 1

- Movieology Shockfest 1960-1969: Includes “Dementia 13,” “Last Man On Earth,” “City of the Dead aka Horror Hotel,” “Carnival of Souls,” “A Bucket of Blood” and “Night of the Living Dead.”
- Numb
- The Rat Pack Ultimate Collectors Edition: Includes “Oceans 11,” “Robin and the 7 Hoods,” “4 for Texas” and “Sergeants 3.”
- The Secret Invasion: To the best of my knowledge, this Roger Corman flick has nothing to do with Skrulls of any kind.
- Shin Chan: Season 1, Part 1
- Frank Sinatra – The Early Years Collection: Includes “It Happened In Brooklyn,” “Step Lively,” “The Kissing Bandit,” “Double Dynamite” and “Higher and Higher.”

- Stargate Infinity: The Complete Series
- Tobor the Great
- Two and a Half Men – The Complete Third Season
- Untraceable
- John Wayne: The Fox Westerns Collection: Includes “The Big Trail,” “North To Alaska,” “The Comancheros” and “The Undefeated.”
Now, the Blu-Ray releases:
- Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
- Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
- Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
- Mrs. Doubtfire
- Untraceable
Some of the last HD DVD releases are as follows:
Of course, now that the format is officially dead, those of us with HD DVD players shouldn’t be looking at new content. Instead, we should be hitting brick and mortar stores looking for old content at blowout prices. (I picked up Shaun of the Dead for $7.99 today, for example.)
Finally, the pick of the week. How can I not go with the Indiana Jones trilogy? Regardless of how the fourth comes out, the first and third were great.
Mission Impossible
You might want to add a year to the Mission Impossible. I wasn’t sure which series it was talking about.
Re: Mission Impossible
The 1988 series only had 2 seasons so this must be the 1966 series which had 7 seasons.
Re: Mission Impossible
Done.
