There are a few nice selections this week, particularly for animation fans.
First, the DVD releases:
- Be Kind Rewind
- Blood+ Volume 2
- Burn Notice – Season One
- The Carmen Miranda Collection: Includes “The Gang’s All Here,” “If I’m Lucky,” “Something For The Boys,” “Greenwich Village,” and “Doll Face.” Each title is also available individually.
- Californication – Season One
- Chaos Theory
- Classe Tous Risques – Criterion Collection
- Doll Face
- Dynasty – Season Three, Vol. 1
- ER – The Complete Ninth Season
- Fool’s Gold
- Galaxy High School Collection: This was a fun series. It’s already been released in two individual volumes.
- The Gang’s All Here
- Greenwich Village
- Gundam Seed Destiny, TV Movie 1
- If I’m Lucky
- Jericho – The Second Season
- Jericho – The Complete Series
- The Jungle Book 2
- Legend of Crystania Complete Collection
- Lone Wolf and Cub Volume 2 (Episodes 6-9)
- Love and Other Disasters
- Meerkat Manor, Season 3
- Men In Black: This is a new “bare bones” edition, with a low price allowed by a complete lack of bonus features.
- Noir: Complete Collection
- The Nude Bomb: The first time Maxwell Smart hit the big screen, he was still played by Don Adams.
- Popeye and Friends, Vol. 1
- Popeye the Sailor: 1938-1940, Vol. 2
- Sabrina, The Teenage Witch – The Fourth Season
- So I Married An Axe Murderer (Deluxe Edition)
- Something For The Boys
- Suite Life of Zack and Cody: Lip Synchin’ in the Rain
- Super High Me
- The Sword In The Stone (45th Anniversary Special Edition): There seems to be a new DVD game compared to the Gold Classics release, but otherwise, it’s the same product. That doesn’t mean it’s not great.
- The Best of Wanted: Dead Or Alive
- Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins
Now, the Blu-Ray releases:
Finally, the pick of the week. I’ve got to go with the Sword In The Stone release. I’ve always found that really enjoyable, and I haven’t seen the specific cartoons on the new Fleischer 1938-1940 Popeye set, so I can’t properly judge those.
Man
This is a pretty dry week…
blu-ray
Is the MIB blu-ray bare bones as well?
Nude Bomb
…And he appeared in a really bad film that Don Adams denounced a few years later. It wasn’t up to the show. The TV movie they made a few years later made some amends, and it featured most of the show’s cast.
Burn Notice
My pick of the week is definitely Burn Notice – Season One. That show is surprisingly good.
