There is a veritable plethora of rereleased titles available this week, including entire lines of “Cliff’s Notes” and “I Love the 80s” branded releases. Most of these seem to be the bare bones releases, with no new special features compared to the originals, so I’ve only listed those that either tie into new product (eg. Starship Troopers) or offer something new (eg. a digital copy.)
First, the DVD releases:
- The 6th Day: with digital copy
- Baby Blues
- Ben 10 – Season 4
- Bram Stoker’s Dracula’s Guest: I had no idea Stoker wrote a sequel, but I looked into it, and it seems he did.
- Carmen
- Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion Vol. 1: anime
- Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion Vol. 2: anime
- Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion Part 1 (2 pc): anime
- Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion, Part 1: anime. If anyone can tell us the differences between these four releases, and what episodes overlap, I’m sure we’d appreciate it.
- Code Monkeys: Season 1
- The Counterfeiters
- Doctor Who – The Time Meddler (Episode 17)
- Doctor Who – Black Orchid (Episode 121)
- Doctor Who – The Five Doctors (25th Anniversary Edition)
- Family Ties – The Fourth Season
- Foyle’s War: Set 5
- Gattaca: with digital copy
- Get Smart: Season 1: This is the old Don Adams series
- Godannar, Vol. 2: Complete Collection: anime
- Gokusen TV Collection
- Gurren Lagann 2: anime
- He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Vol. 3: This was the new series, with Cam Clarke as the voices of He-Man and Prince Adam.
- Heavy Metal: with digital copy
- Heroes and Heroines: An assorted collection of properties, including episodes of “Space Sentinels,” “The Freedom Force,” “The Secrets of Isis,” and “Blackstar.”
- Hotel Babylon: Season 2
- Joy House
- The Killing of John Lennon
- Kodocha: Season One Box Set (Vol. 1-6): anime
- Kodocha Box Set: Season 2 (Vol. 7-13): anime
- Krull: with digital copy
- Life in Cold Blood
- Living Goddess
- Masters of Science Fiction: The Complete Series
- Miss Conception
- Nim’s Island
- P.D. James – The Black Tower
- P.D. James – Devices and Desires
- P.D. James: The Essential Collection
- Route 66 – The Complete First Season
- Simoun Vol. 5: Song of Prayer: anime
- Slippery Slope
- Star Trek: The Original Series – The Complete Second Season (Remastered): I’m irritated that they don’t have a Blu-Ray release of this, as the first season came out on HD DVD/DVD combo editions. I’d like it in high def instead.
- Starship Troopers: with digital copy
- Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation
- Starship Troopers 3: Marauder
- Starship Troopers Trilogy
- Terminal City: The Complete Series
- Ultraviolet: with digital copy
- Wild China
- WWE: Summerslam: The Complete Anthology: A 20 disc set. I know I just caught Dave’s eye.
- Zegapain Vol. 6: anime
Now, the Blu-Ray releases:
- The BBC High Definition Natural History Collection: Includes “Planet Earth,” “Wild China,” “Galapagos,” and “Ganges.”
- The Counterfeiters
- Lonesome Dove
- Nim’s Island
- Robin Hood – Season One
- Starship Troopers Trilogy
- Starship Troopers
- Starship Troopers 3: Marauder
- Wild China
Finally, the pick of the week. Despite the limited selection of definition, I’ve got to go with “Star Trek: TOS Season Two.” If you’re reading this site, you’re well aware of the influence the original series had, and the mark it left on television sci-fi.
c0D3 m0nK33s ftw!
Please excuse the title, but I’m excited to see Code Monkeys finally hit the stores. Good show, if a little insane.
Summerslam Collection…
It certainly caught my interest (on my blog I’ve currently been re-capping my way through the Wrestlemanias, as well as other wrestling DVDs).
